NTP Software Quota & File SentinelTM Functionality
Windows NT, 2000 & 2003 compatible.
Policy-based system administration.
Real-time monitoring and alerts. Real-time monitoring of disk
operations with limits tracked against files, directories and shares,
as well as enforcement actions taken against any specified user.
Set storage quotas on users. Set the default at zero (for example),
and then assign storage space according to how much each user needs.
For example you could give some users 50 MB of drive space while others
get 100 MB. Each limit can have up to 200 thresholds (percentage of
the limit). Each threshold can have its own notification options:
- Email, reminder, and/or pop-up messages to triggering
users, object owners, and designated managers or
administrators.
- Configurable message text for each individual message
recipient.
- Different message text for when a threshold is
exceeded and when the size of the directory or share
returns to below threshold.
- Commands (batch files, scripts and programs) that
can run when a threshold is exceeded and when the
size of the file directory or share returns to below
threshold.
Control files. Protect your servers from being forced to house
inappropriate files, by blocking WRITEs that involve specified file
types (i.e.,: .MP3, .MPEG, AVI, or any files you designate). It is also
possible to limit the size of an individual file or file type
Limit the size of objects that can be written to the network. Define
a maximum size for directories, shares, and even individual files to
block WRITE actions by any user that will exceed that limit.
Single-seat policy-based system administration. New EASE technology
delivers a "single-seat" policy based solution for deploying
and managing server-based applications across the enterprise, significantly
reducing the amount of time and effort required to manage network configurations.
Account exceptions. Exempt certain administrators and executives
from Quota & File Sentinel enforcement actions.
Manageable limit enforcement. Configure overdrafts, and temporarily
suspend limits.
